RAW-EDGE APPLIQUÉ
Bee Raw-Edge Appliqué Wall Hanging
Built as a textile collage, this wall hanging places a richly detailed bee against a pale field of words, botanicals, butterflies, and small found-image fragments. Translucent printed wings, graphic black legs, a striped abdomen, and a vivid red heart turn the insect into both a natural subject and a symbol of love, work, and community.
The intentionally exposed appliqué edges contribute texture and allow the layered materials to retain the character of hand-cut collage.

Legit Kits “Little Coffee” — aka “Whit’s Java Jazz”
Michele’s next wall-hanging project will bring the geometric Little Coffee design by Legit Kits into fabric: a dark coffee pot pouring a warm stream into a faceted mug against cool blue polygonal shapes.
A Legit Kits design in progress, affectionately known in the GNUWHIT household as “Whit’s Java Jazz.” This preview will be replaced or expanded with photographs of Michele’s finished wall hanging.

The Quilter Behind the Work
Michele Urbany Neely Puluti is a master quilter whose textile practice is informed by 20 years of costuming experience in the entertainment industry. Her feature-film work includes The Big Chill and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. That professional eye for construction, fabric, silhouette, and finish now carries into intricate quilts, wall hangings, and other fabric creations.
This gallery treats each creation as its own project. Every photograph Michele and Whit provide will remain with the named work it documents—whether it shows the front, back, quilting pattern, stitching detail, fabric choice, award, or the piece on display.

Created for and presented to Pam and Jack, this quilt combines warm neutrals, charcoal accents, stars, and repeating geometric blocks. Michele’s sweeping scrollwork softens the structured patchwork and carries beautifully through the borders and reverse.
Hedgehog Goes to the Beach
A cheerful baby quilt that sends Michele’s colorful hedgehog to the shore beneath a smiling sun. Layered blue fabrics create the water and horizon, while expressive quilting turns the reverse into a landscape of rolling waves and soft clouds.

Tracy’s Purse
Created for Whit’s sister, Tracy, this roomy handmade handbag pairs blue-and-purple stripes with oversized red floral motifs and matching fabric handles. Inside, vivid red and orange circular patterns, coordinating pockets, and carefully finished details make the interior every bit as expressive as the exterior.
Ribbons Quilt

My Favorite Quilt
A jubilant sampler quilt filled with star blocks, checkerboards, florals, and small surprises in nearly every section. The pale lattice joins each block into a balanced whole, while colorful fabrics and the flowered border make this aptly named favorite feel both carefully composed and joyfully collected.
Quack Quack Frankie Baby Quilt
A cheerful baby quilt filled with personality, from the rows of colorful appliquéd ducks to the lively patchwork and flowered border. On the reverse, duck silhouettes glide through flowing ripple-pattern quilting, carrying the playful theme into the smallest stitched details.
Swallows Quilt
Swallows Quilt turns small, angular pieces into a lively flock moving across a calm cream field. The scattered birds bring rhythm and motion to the center, while the olive inner frame and wide botanical border gather the composition into a richly finished whole.

Three compact Christmas-tree studies share the same 24-inch-square format while moving through distinctly different moods. One layers rich greens with holly and cardinal prints, another combines a dark tree with festive ribbon-like color and vintage holiday typography, and the third turns the design wintry with a white tree, snowflakes, and a crisp black-and-silver palette.
Angel Wall Hanging — 30 × 20 Inches
A slender golden angel emerges from a cascading field of gray, white, blush, and turquoise fabric strips. A delicate halo, flowers, and small birds soften the geometric movement and give this compact wall hanging a luminous, uplifting presence.
This 30 × 20-inch interpretation joins Michele’s larger Angel wall hanging as a related textile study in scale, color, and movement.

Sheep Quilt Top — Not Yet Quilted
Twenty distinctive patchwork sheep stand patiently behind their own pieced fences. Checks, stripes, solids, and subtle prints give every member of the flock a different personality, all held together by a quiet palette of black, gray, cream, and brown.
This photograph records the completed quilt top before the quilting, binding, and final finishing stages.
