Welcome to the first Around the Herd update—our place to share what’s new, what’s changing, and what’s still taking shape here at GNUWHIT.
There has been plenty happening behind the scenes, and the website’s main layout is now mostly complete. The departments are finding their places, the pages are getting their personalities, and this collection of interests, discoveries, and secondhand treasures is starting to feel like home.
When you sell a little bit of practically everything, organizing it all takes some doing. Apparently, even a herd needs directions.
A Little Gold, a Little Gnu
Today we added a small but distinctive finishing touch: our golden gnu favicon.
That’s the little icon you’ll see beside GNUWHIT in your browser tab. It may be tiny, but it gives the website a familiar face—and makes us easier to find when you have far too many tabs open. Not that we would know anything about that.
Shopping, Stories, and What Comes Next
While the main structure is in place, two important pieces are still ahead:
- Shop the Herd: Our planned direct-shopping experience. We’re evaluating how best to connect it with our marketplace inventory so browsing, purchasing, and keeping availability accurate work well together.
- Blaine County, Idaho: A section dedicated to the place we call home. We’ll share more as its direction develops.
Our existing marketplace and affiliate pages remain part of GNUWHIT. You can explore those now while we work toward adding direct shopping.
Keeping the Herd Fresh
From here, much of the work will be refinement: improving navigation, polishing descriptions, adjusting images, checking links, and making the website easier to enjoy on phones and larger screens alike.
We also plan to refresh the featured eBay items typically once a month, bringing different finds into view as inventory changes. Because many items are one-of-a-kind, something featured here may sell between updates. The linked marketplace listing is the place to check current availability and pricing.
That changing inventory is part of the fun. Estates, storage units, private collections, and unexpected discoveries keep bringing something different through the door.
More Than a Store
GNUWHIT is also a place for the stories behind the finds, Michele’s quilts and Hollywood keepsakes, creative projects, and the occasional observation from around the herd.
We want it to feel like a place worth exploring—not just a collection of things with price tags.
